What to Expect

Before & During

You'll come in for an initial consultation where Dr Walker examines your wisdom teeth and discusses the best approach for extraction. Pre-operative instructions will be provided, including fasting requirements before general anaesthesia. On the day of your procedure, arrive with a support person who can drive you home. Dr Walker will administer general anaesthesia, and you'll sleep comfortably throughout the extraction. Most procedures take 30-60 minutes depending on complexity, with senior nurses monitoring your vital signs continuously.

After Your Procedure

You'll recover in our practice under supervision in a comfortable recovery room. You'll receive post-operative care instructions and pain management advice. Most patients experience minimal discomfort with proper aftercare. Take the rest of the day to relax, and soft foods are recommended for one to two weeks. You can return to light activity after a few days, though strenuous exercise should be avoided for one to two weeks. Follow-up appointments monitor healing and ensure proper recovery, with complete healing typically taking 7-10 days.
